Our company was founded in 2005 in Cologne. It quickly developed a focus on pre-dough systems, re-work processing, and automation technology. Our customers are spread across five continents and over 25 countries. Since the beginning of 2023, with the acquisition of aws-automation, we have strengthened our presence in the trade and mid-sized sector. This merger expanded our customer solutions to include silo technology and recipe control. Today, W&K-Automation has 24 employees in Cologne and Osterrönfeld.

The operation of modern bakeries places requirements on recipe management when it comes to exchanging information between different systems. It requires the use of a server and network infrastructure. Should this infrastructure fail overnight, the production process is at risk because the responsible IT department and technicians are hard to reach.

ThorBackPlus can now be supplemented with a simple and effective solution. The Emergency Operation Display (Notbedienungs-Display) has a direct connection to the control system. This enables bakers to continue pulling flour from the silos without interruption, start water dosing orders, and, for example, display floor scale values.

Because this is an emergency solution, the dough maker should ideally have the recipes available in parallel as a printout or through another medium.
